Sounds like they need to add some more engineering to it...

so... they got the structural math all wrong then. confidence inspiring.

Psh, big deal. My trucks frame bends going around corners too. Must be the RAW POWAH of the slant 6 pumping out it’s 80hp.

Or the rust.....probably that.

Correct me if I’m wrong, engineers of Oppo, but wouldn’t it be torque (and poor structural engineering) that’s twisting the frame, and not power?

Wringing every last ounce of power of of they can I see....

Power, actually. If an engine can produce gobs of torque but only at slow speeds, the drivetrain and chassis have time to deliver the thrust to the wheels and get the vehicle rolling. Do that at a high enough rate and the drivetrain or chassis will give up at some point.

Nothing new for GM twisting the chassis, I just don’t think they’re used to having glass over top of where it’s bending :)

Ahhhhh, makes sense.

tbf ladder frames aren’t really meant to be torsionally stiff.  Look at how much the frame of an 18 wheeler twists when they’re getting a heavy load moving.

Let’s see... they’re on what, the third generation where denting the underbody of the car renders it - quoth GM themselves - “structurally compromised and unsafe to repair or operate.” No, I’m not fucking joking.

And now they’re literally tearing the frame apart.

What the fuck, has nobody at GM engineering ever heard of FEA?

This is typical GM committee-think right here: Have the camaro “inspire” a new blazer and silverado, have the equinox borrow the tail light shape from the corvette, h ave the corvette get the same treatment to weak frames that have underpinned gm trucks for generations. Everyone shares, so less effort all around!
